South Africa (SA) Squad For ICC Champions Trophy 2025

South Africa has announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and the UAE. The squad, led by ODI captain Temba Bavuma, includes 10 players who participated in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, where South Africa reached the semi-finals.

The fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi make their returns from injury. Nortje, who missed the 2023 World Cup due to a stress fracture in his back, is set for his first ODI appearance since September 2023. Ngidi, sidelined with a groin injury since October 2024, also rejoins the squad, bolstering South Africa's pace attack

South Africa squad features fresh talent with batters Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Tristan Stubbs, along with all-rounder Wiaan Mulder, all set to participate in their first senior ICC 50-over tournament.

Head coach Rob Walter expressed confidence in the squad's blend of experience and new talent, stating, "This squad boasts a wealth of experience, with many players having consistently performed in high-pressure situations. That kind of experience is invaluable in a tournament like this."

South Africa will open their tournament against Afghanistan on February 21 in Karachi, before traveling to Rawalpindi to take on Australia on February 15. They will then return to Karachi for their final group-stage match against England on March 1.

Top two teams in groups A and B will qualify for the semi-finals. The eight-team tournament will be played in Pakistan and the UAE and is being played for the first time since 2017. Pakistan is the current holder of the trophy after beating India in the final at the Oval.
