Leading Indian shuttlers resumed play at the Singapore Open 2024, held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, on Tuesday, May 28, as part of the BWF Tour Asia Leg.
The first-round matches of the Singapore Open, also known as the Singapore Super Series 750, took place on May 28 and 29, The badminton competition continued with the second round, quarterfinals, and semifinals on the following days, with the final taking place on Sunday, June 2.
Day 1 Update
At the Singapore Open 2024's opening round on Tuesday (May 28) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, lower-ranked Danish players Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard shocked world-ranked Indians, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
In the men's doubles opening round match that lasted 47 minutes on court 1, the top seeds headed to the Paris Olympics, Satwik and Chirag, who had won the Thailand Open 2024 earlier this month, fell in straight games 20-22 18-21 to the world number 34 Danish pair.
How many players are competing in the Singapore Open?
There will be 96 doubles pairs and 64 singles players competing in the tournament. Ten Indian doubles teams and six Indian singles players are included in this. Starring the Indian team are Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, HS Pronnoy, and PV Sindhu. In the doubles, Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty will be the main contenders.

There will not be a TV broadcast via May 28, the first day of the tournament in India; nevertheless, viewers may follow the action via BWF's official YouTube channel, BWF TV.
