Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a century while playing captaincy innings in Rajkot. He scored the 11th century of his Test career in 157 balls. At one time in the third Test against England in Rajkot, the Indian team had lost three wickets for 33 runs. After this, Rohit along with Ravindra Jadeja made a record partnership of 204 runs for the fourth wicket and put India in a strong position. After losing three wickets in the first session, India did not lose any wicket in the second session. At tea time Rohit was unbeaten after scoring 97 runs.
Rohit hit three sixes in his innings. With this, he has left behind former Indian Test captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in terms of hitting the most number of sixes in Tests. Hitman has become the Indian batsman who has hit the second most number of sixes in Tests. He has 80 sixes in his name. Dhoni had 78 sixes in his name. Now Rohit is only behind Virender Sehwag. Sehwag had hit 91 sixes in his Test career.
After Rohit comes Sachin Tendulkar, who hit 69 sixes in the Test. At the same time, Kapil Dev is at fifth position with 61 sixes and Ravindra Jadeja is at sixth position with 60 sixes. The record of hitting most sixes in overall test is in the name of Ben Stokes. Stokes has hit 128 sixes. Brendon McCullum is second with 107 sixes and Adam Gilchrist is third with 100 sixes. Rohit is at 16th position overall in terms of hitting most sixes in Tests.

Whereas, Pakistan's Shahid Afridi is at third place with 476 sixes. Former New Zealand captain and current England Test coach Brendon McCullum is in fourth place with 398 sixes.
Rohit has also come fourth in terms of the Indian batsman who has scored the most runs as a captain in international cricket. He has 4606 runs in his name. As captain, he has scored 10 centuries and 26 half-centuries. In this matter, Rohit left Sachin Tendulkar behind. Sachin had 4508 runs in his name. Virat Kohli tops this list with 12,883 runs. Dhoni is at second place with 11,207 runs and Azharuddin is at third place with 8095 runs. Rohit made a partnership of 204 runs with Jadeja, which is the third highest partnership by India for the fourth wicket against England.
Rohit scored this century at the age of 36 years and 291 days. He is the oldest Indian captain to score a century in international cricket. In this matter Rohit left Vijay Hazare behind. Vijay had scored a century against England in 1951 at the age of 36 years and 278 days. Rohit also has the most number of international sixes in his name as Indian captain. He has 212 sixes in his name. Whereas, Dhoni had hit 211 sixes. Virat is at third place with 138 sixes. At the same time, Rohit is at second place after England's Eoin Morgan in terms of hitting the most number of sixes among the captains of the whole world. Morgan had hit 233 sixes.
