The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side will play their first match of the 2021 IPL edition on 10th April 2021 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) side in Mumbai. The side had a disastrous campaign in the 2020 IPL season that was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year and finished at the 7th position in the points table.
The Chennai side could manage to win only 6 out of the 14 matches that they played in the IPL last year. And, ahead of the 2021 edition of the IPL, the fitness of their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is of paramount importance to the franchise.

The third retained player by CSK ahead of the IPL 2018 Player Auction, Ravindra Jadeja has been MS Dhoni’s go-to-man when he needed to break a partnership and the left-armer has delivered the goods on many occasions. His presence gives Dhoni the extra cushion of playing an additional batsman if needed.
Jadeja has been an enigma right since his advent in international cricket. He was part of the victorious Indian U-19 cricket team that won the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. His performance in IPL 2008 helped Rajasthan Royals to title victory and earned him the nickname "Rockstar" by his captain Shane Warne. In 2012 IPL player auction, Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for approx. Rs. 9.8 Crore, making him the most expensive player of the years auction. Jadeja has represented the Gujarat Lions for two seasons and is now back with CSK for the eleventh edition of the league.

Even with the ball, the left-arm spinner has scalped 114 wickets in the IPL and these are numbers that allow Jadeja to qualify as an all-time IPL great. He has also been a part of the IPL since the inaugural edition in 2008.
Ravindra Jadeja was in scintillating form with the bat for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) outfit in the 2020 edition of the IPL. The left-hander scored 232 runs in the 13th IPL edition and scored his runs at an impressive average of 46.40 and at a whopping strike rate of 171.85.
