Noman Ali created history by taking a hat-trick in Test

Pakistan cricket team's left-arm spinner Noman Ali created history on Saturday. He created history by taking a hat-trick in the second Test match being played in Multan against West Indies. He took three wickets on the first three balls of the 12th over. Noman is the first Pakistani spinner to take a hat-trick in Tests.

He first dismissed Justin Greaves and then on the next two balls he sent Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair to the pavilion. Pakistan's team has been playing Test matches for 72 years but till now none of its spinners could take a hat-trick in Tests. Noman ended this drought.

Noman trapped the West Indies batsmen badly with his spin and put his team in a strong position. With this hat-trick, he reduced West Indies' score to 7 wickets for 38 runs. Noman's next victim was Kemar Roach who was declared LBW. West Indies lost their ninth wicket in the form of Roach. With this, Noman has joined the list of those special players who took a hat-trick in a Test match. Apart from Noman, Wasim Akram, Mohammad Sami and Naseem Shah have done this for Pakistan. All of them are fast bowlers. Akram has taken a hat-trick twice in Tests. Akram took his first hat-trick against Sri Lanka in Lahore in 1998-99.

He took his second hat-trick in the same year. In 2001-02, Sami took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in Lahore. Naseem Shah took a hat-trick against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi in 2020 and with this he became the youngest bowler to take a hat-trick in Tests for Pakistan.
