It has been announced that Scott Edwards will captain the Netherlands in the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup, he made his debut for the Netherlands against Namibia in first-class cricket. Made his debut in December 2017 in List A cricket during the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship match against Namibia. An important turning point in his career came when he was named captain in 2022, taking over for Pieter Seelaar after the veteran spinner retired with a back injury. Edwards is the eighth ODI captain for the Netherlands cricket team.
