In the first Test match against Bangladesh, Australia's first innings folded for 198 runs. Subsequently, Mitchell Starc delivered the first breakthrough for the Australian team. He dismissed Bangladeshi opening batsman Shadman Islam (20 runs), sending him back to the pavilion. Upon taking this wicket, Starc reached a tally of 434 wickets in his Test career, becoming the most successful left-arm bowler in the history of the format.
