Steve Smith reached this historic milestone during the second Test match against South Africa, held at St George’s Park in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
In the match, South Africa declared their first innings at 425/9. In response, the Australian batting lineup collapsed like a house of cards, with the entire team bundled out for just 99 runs in their first innings. However, amidst the team's dismal performance, 37-year-old Smith batted with composure, scoring 28 runs off 88 balls, including two boundaries, to reach the milestone of 11,000 runs in Test cricket.
