Chris Gayle held the record for hitting the most sixes in a T20 calendar year. In 2015, he hit a total of 135 sixes in T20 cricket. However, now Nicholas Pooran has broken this record in just 8 months. Pooran has hit a total of 139 sixes so far in 2024 and he is seen crossing 150 sixes with great ease. Nicholas Pooran is currently participating in the Caribbean Premier League and his excellent form continues in it.
Caribbean Premier League 2024: Playing for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, Nicholas Pooran rained sixes. He played a brilliant innings of 97 runs with the help of 7 fours and 9 sixes in 43 balls in the match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Due to this, the Trinbago team managed to score 250 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs in this match. Keesy Carty also scored an unbeaten 73 off 35 balls and Pollard returned unbeaten on 7. Anrich Nortje took three wickets for St Kitts.
In response, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots team could score only 206/8 after playing the full over. The team's batsmen played at a fast pace but the score was so big that despite all efforts, the team could not achieve it.
