The players' auction for the first season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) took place in Mumbai. The tournament will start on March 4. The final match will be played on 26 March. All matches will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. 448 players have been shortlisted for the auction. Five teams participated in the auction. The teams of Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors are participating in the auction. Ashley Gardner - 3.20 crore

Natalie Sciver - 3.20 crore
England captain Natalie Sciver got the same amount as Gardner. He was included in their team by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.20 crore.
Deepti Sharma - 2.60 crore
The base price of Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma was Rs 50 lakh. Delhi and Gujarat showed interest in buying him. Mumbai and UP also entered the race. In the end, UP bought him for Rs 2.60 crore.
Shefali Verma - 2.0 crores
The base price of Shefali Verma was 50 lakhs. She is known for aggressive batting. There was competition between RCB and Delhi. Mumbai also landed later. Shefali was finally bought by Delhi for Rs 2 crore.
