IND vs ENG: India's legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin achieved a major feat during the fourth Test against England in Ranchi. Ashwin created history by dismissing Ollie Pope in the second innings of England. Apart from Ollie Pope, he also dismissed Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Ben Fox and James Anderson. This bowler, who recently completed 500 wickets in Tests, broke the record of former spinner Anil Kumble. Apart from this, he also left behind former captain Kapil Dev. Ashwin took four wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings against England in the Ranchi Test.

Ashwin became the bowler with the highest wicket taker in Test cricket on Indian soil. Ashwin left former captain Anil Kumble behind in this matter. Kumble played a total of 63 matches on Indian grounds. During this period he took 350 wickets. He took a total of 619 wickets in 132 Tests in his career. Ashwin overtook him in his 59th match at home. He is the only Indian to take 100 wickets in Tests against England. He has also achieved this feat in Ranchi Test only.

Ashwin took five wickets in the second innings against England. He became the fastest bowler for India to take five or more wickets in an innings. In this matter he equaled Kumble. Kumble had taken five or more wickets in an innings 35 times in 132 Tests. Ashwin equaled his score in the 99th test itself. His total now in Tests is 507 wickets.
