But it seems that Kolkata Knight Riders have decided the names of the 5 players they are going to retain before the auction.
Actually, KKR's franchise has shared a picture on its official x handle. The picture shows Gmail accounts in the name of Shreyas Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Mitchell Starc and Sunil Narine.
After seeing this post, fans believe that KKR has shared the list of names of their retained players before the IPL 2025 mega auction. These five players are an important part of the KKR team.

KKR managed to win the trophy in IPL 2024. In the final match, Kolkata got an easy win against Sunrisers Hyderabad and won the title after 10 years. The Shreyas Iyer-led team looked very strong in the tournament.

Mitchell Starc is currently one of the most dangerous bowlers in the world. KKR bought him for Rs 24.75 crore in the mini auction for the 17th season of IPL. He became the most expensive player sold in IPL history.

If KKR releases Starc before the mega auction, then its purse money will increase by Rs 24.75 crore. With this much money, the franchise can strengthen its squad by buying many more big players in the auction. Apart from this, it will also have a chance to buy Starc again in the auction.
