With this one-sided victory over Pakistan, Joe Root has surpassed former legendary New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming. Root has now moved into seventh place on the list of captains with the most Test match wins in history.

Joe Root has captained England in 67 Test matches so far, leading the team to victory in 29 of them, while suffering 27 defeats and drawing 11 matches. In comparison, Stephen Fleming recorded 28 wins during his tenure as captain across 80 Test matches (27 losses, 25 draws).

Interestingly, Fleming has recently been appointed as the new head coach of the England Test team. He will officially assume the role after the conclusion of the Pakistan series. Thus, Root has surpassed his future coach's captaincy record even before Fleming's arrival.
