On Sunday, May 4, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a pivotal IPL 2025 match at Kolkata's famous Eden Gardens. With a recent victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC), the reigning champions, KKR, were able to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs. With four wins and five losses from 10 games, they currently have nine points and are desperate to continue their winning momentum.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have already bowed out of the playoff race after a heavy 100-run defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI). Sitting eighth on the table with three wins and eight losses from 11 matches, RR will now be playing for pride in their remaining games. With no pressure, they might look to play freely and spoil the plans of other teams.
As the two sides gear up for this face-off, fans can expect some standout performances with the bat. On that note, here are three players who could be the top run-getters in today's match:

This season, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane has been a pillar of support for his team. Rahane, who is in the lead, has amassed 297 runs in nine innings at an average of 37.12 and a remarkable strike rate of 149.24. He has already notched up three half-centuries, proving his consistency at the top of the order.
Rahane hit four boundaries and a six at a remarkable rate of 185.71 to knock a quick 26 off just 14 balls in KKR's most recent game against DC. Though he couldn't convert the start into a big score, he showed signs of good form. As Kolkata faces a must-win situation against Rajasthan, the captain will be eager to deliver a match-winning knock, both as a leader and as a key batter.

Young talent Angkrish Raghuvanshi has quietly made a name for himself in KKR's lineup this season. Raghuvanshi has amassed 241 runs at an average of 40.16 and a strike rate of 146.95 in his eight innings of play thus far, including a respectable fifty.
In the previous outing against Delhi, the right-hander played a crucial role in the middle order, scoring 44 runs off 32 deliveries. His innings, laced with three boundaries and two sixes, provided much-needed stability to KKR's chase. Raghuvanshi will try to maintain his dexterity and stabilise the middle order, which has been erratic this season, with the home fans cheering him on at Eden Gardens.

Although Rajasthan has had a difficult season, the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been a shining example. The left-hander has amassed 439 runs in 11 innings, boasting an average of 43.90 and a fiery strike rate of 154.03. With five half-centuries already, Jaiswal has shown his class and attacking intent throughout the tournament.
In RR’s last match against MI, Jaiswal got off to a flying start, hitting two sixes early in his innings. However, he fell cheaply for 13 runs off six balls. Having missed out in that game, the dynamic opener will be keen to bounce back and play a commanding innings against KKR. His aggressive style at the top makes him one of the most dangerous batters to watch in this contest.
With playoff hopes on the line for Kolkata and pride at stake for Rajasthan, today’s match promises to be an exciting battle. All eyes will be on Rahane, Raghuvanshi, and Jaiswal, who have the potential to light up Eden Gardens with their batting prowess.
