IPL 2025: Who Could Score the Most Runs in GT vs SRH Match?

The Gujarat Titans (GT) are set to take on SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an important IPL 2025 encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today, May 2. GT, coming off a heavy defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR), have slipped to fourth in the points table. They have secured six wins and suffered three losses in their nine matches so far, giving them a total of 12 points. Playing on their home turf, GT will be eager to bounce back and consolidate their position in the playoff race.

In contrast, SRH is in a difficult situation. With just three victories from nine outings, they are currently ninth in the standings with six points. Although they grabbed a morale-boosting five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their previous match, the road ahead is challenging. To maintain their hopes of making the playoffs, SRH must win all of their remaining games, beginning today's encounter.

As both sides gear up for this crucial showdown, here’s a look at three batters who could make a significant impact with the bat in this fixture:

3. Travis Head (SRH)

Australian opener Travis Head has had a mixed season so far. In his last appearance against CSK, he managed 19 runs off 16 balls, including four crisp boundaries. Despite getting a start, he couldn’t build on it. Across nine innings this season, Head has accumulated 261 runs at an average of 29 and an impressive strike rate of 159.14, including two half-centuries.

With SRH in a must-win situation, Head's role at the top becomes even more crucial. He will be looking to rediscover his early-season form and take on the Gujarat bowling attack, which features quality names like Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Kishore.

2. Jos Buttler (GT)

English star Jos Buttler has been a consistent performer for Gujarat Titans this season. With 406 runs from nine innings at a staggering average of 81.20 and a strike rate of 168.46, Buttler is GT's second-highest run-getter. He has already notched up four fifties, including a blistering unbeaten 50 off just 26 balls against RR in their last game. That knock featured three fours and four sixes, striking at 192.31.

Buttler’s stability and firepower at the top have been key factors in GT's success this season. As the team looks to get back on the winning track, they will rely on Buttler to deliver another commanding innings.

Skipper Shubman Gill has been leading by example for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. In the previous match against RR, he played a brilliant knock of 84 runs from 50 balls, including five fours and four sixes, at a strike rate of 168. Despite missing out on a century by a slim margin, his innings was exceptional.

Gill has so far scored 389 runs in nine games at an average of 48.62 and a healthy strike rate of 156.22, with four fifties to his name. Along with Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan, Gill forms the backbone of GT's batting lineup. His strong record at the Narendra Modi Stadium adds to the expectation that he will continue his good form against SRH today.
