Why RCB wear green jersey

RCB's green jersey reflects the team's commitment towards their 'Go Green' initiative, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of conservation, sustainability and environmental protection. These eco-friendly jerseys are made from recycled waste collected at the stadium.

RCB has started this campaign to promote tree plantation to reduce the impact of global warming. As part of the campaign, the RCB captain gifts a plant to the opposition captain during the toss. RCB usually wears a green kit in afternoon games.

  • According to some estimates, an average of 8 tonnes of dry waste, food waste and other recyclable waste is generated from a stadium after every match. This wasteway is then used in shirts and other recycled goods through modern machines
  • To spread awareness about the environment, cricket matches are also organized in M Chinnaswamy Stadium using solar and wind energy. It has now been converted into a green stadium.
