IPL 2024: Big records made during MI vs RCB match

RCB faced its fourth consecutive defeat in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai Indians (MI) achieved the target of 197 runs in 15.3 overs. The team achieved the target of more than 190 for the fourth time even before 17 overs, MI became the first team to do so.

Mumbai fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for just 21 runs. He became the first bowler to take 5 wickets against RCB. RCB's Glenn Maxwell could not even open his account, he became the player to be out on zero the maximum number of times in IPL, 17 times. And many new records have been made in this match.

1. Most 5 wickets in IPL

For the second time in IPL, Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets in the innings. Earlier in 2022, he had taken 5 wickets for just 10 runs against Kolkata. Bumrah became the first MI bowler to take 5+ wickets twice in IPL. Overall, he has become the fourth player to do so in IPL. Before him, James Faulkner, Jaydev Unadkat and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have done this.

Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for 21 runs against RCB. He became the first bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings against RCB. He broke the record of Ashish Nehra, who took 4 wickets for 10 runs while playing for CSK in 2015.

4. Top wicket taker bowler against RCB

With taking 5 wickets, Jasprit Bumrah took 29 wickets against RCB. With this, he also became the bowler taking the most wickets against RCB in IPL. He left RR's Sandeep Sharma behind, who has 26 wickets to his name.

5. Most ducks in IPL

RCB Glenn Maxwell could not even open his account against MI, being out for a duck for the third time in the season.
