The upcoming edition of the BWF World Championships is scheduled to begin on August 21 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Like every year, Indian badminton men's doubles and mixed doubles, the focus of badminton fans will mainly be on the select few who have either already won a medal or two in this event or have performed highly. He is likely to do so based on his recent form.
Men’s singles: HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth
Men’s doubles: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty
Mixed Doubles: Rohan Kapoor/Sikki Reddy, Venkat Gaurav Prasad/Juhi Dewangan
Lakshya Sen will be one of the big medal hopes for India this year. In the 2021 event, Lakshya showed some strong form reaching the semi-finals, before losing to compatriot Kidambi Srikanth in a thrilling match. However, she has improved her game since that edition as she won gold at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 and silver at the 2022 All England Open.
Kidambi Srikanth will be eager to change the color of his medal in the upcoming event in Denmark. Srikanth was one match away from becoming the first Indian male badminton player to win a gold medal at the global championships when he competed in the 2021 edition, but lost to Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in the final.

The kind of stupendous performances Prannoy has put in during his playing career, it is surprising that the 31-year-old hasn't featured in a championship in all these years. Prannoy's agility and the sheer speed with which he delivers his smashes is a sight to behold, and if he can maintain the form he recently showed at the Australia Open, he will surely earn a medal for India at the top event.
The rising Indian duo is reaping the rewards of their hard work in the recent past. After winning the Swiss Open, Indonesia Open and Korea Open this season, the Indian pair will look to claim the gold medal this season.
