India announces squad for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 and tri-series in South Africa, schedule, Teams
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India for the Women's T20 World Cup on Wednesday (December 28). A 15-member team has been announced under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur. Smriti Mandhana has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team. The T20 World Cup will be held in South Africa from 10 February. Along with this, the team has also announced for the tri-series to be held in South Africa in January.
ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023
In the T20 World Cup, the Indian team will play its first match against Pakistan on February 12 in Cape Town. Group-2 has England, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland along with Team India. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the semi-finals. The final match of the tournament will be played in Cape Town on 26 February.

Pooja Vastrakar has been named in the World Cup squad but will have to prove her fitness before the tournament begins. If Pooja is unable to prove her fitness, then Meghna Singh can be given a chance in her place.

Just before the T20 World Cup, Team India will participate in the tri-series of three countries. It will start from 19 January. Apart from India, teams from South Africa and West Indies will participate in this.
