The ICC ODI World Cup is to be played on Indian soil during October-November this year. Now the schedule can be announced soon by the ICC regarding the World Cup. The draft schedule has been sent to the ICC by the BCCI and feedback has been taken from all countries.
According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, the World Cup will start on October 5 in Ahmedabad with a match between defending champions England and last-time runners-up New Zealand. At the same time, the Indian team will play its first match against Australia on 8 October in Chennai. The match between India and Pakistan in the World Cup will be played on October 15 (Sunday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Other big matches will be Australia-New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 29, Australia-England in Ahmedabad on November 4 and New Zealand-South Africa in Pune on November 1. The Indian team will play in 9 cities against the group stage. Whereas the group stage matches of the Pakistani team will be held at five venues.
