West Indies has announced the 15-man squad for the ODI series against India. West Indies have recalled hard-hitting batsman Shimron Hetmyer and fast bowler Oshane Thomas in their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI against India. The Test series between India and West Indies is going to start from 27th July. The first match will be played in Barbados.
West Indies has announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against India. Shimron Hetmyer and fast bowler Oshane Thomas have returned to the ODI squad, while former captain Nicholas Pooran and all-rounder Jason Holder have been dropped. Fast bowlers Jaden Seals and Yannick Cariah have also got a place in the 15-member squad.
Both of them are returning from injuries and surgeries, while left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti has also found a place in the squad after recovering from injury. The Test series between India and West Indies is going to start from 27th July. The first match will be played in Barbados.
Injured all-rounder Keemo Paul was not given a chance, while former skipper Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder were not available for selection. Hetmyer and Thomas have been out of the West Indies' ODI setup for some time now. Both last played in this format almost two years back. Chief selector Desmond Haynes said: "We welcome Thomas and Hetmyer to the ODI squad. Both have had success in this format before. We are confident they will fit well into the set-up."
