The second match of the three-match T20I series between India and South Africa will be played in Guwahati on Sunday (October 2). Team India is eyeing the second match as well as winning the T20 series against South Africa for the first time on their soil. This is the eighth bilateral T20 series being played between India and South Africa. In this, India has won the series three times and South Africa has won the series twice. Two series were drawn. India has beaten South Africa three times at home, but has never won at home. South Africa won the three-match series 2–0 in India in 2015-16.
On the other hand, South Africa, led by Temba Bavuma, would also like to counterattack. He will be hoping to get the target by winning the toss and inviting India to bat first. Despite the cheap dismissals of Rohit and Kohli in the first match in the presence of bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, the South African bowling showed a lack of confidence. Not only this, in Guwahati also the Indian team would like to win the T20 match for the first time. In the two matches played before this, India had to face defeat in one against Australia and the other against Sri Lanka was canceled without a toss.
Talking about the pitch, the wicket is good and it looks brown. That is, if there is less grass on the pitch, then it can be helpful for the batsmen. In such a situation, if the match can be played on the ground, then there will be a lot of rain of runs and the fans will be entertained fiercely during the festival season. However, the T20 match played between India and Australia here before this was low scoring and Team India was piled up after scoring 118 runs and the Kangaroos won that match with 27 balls to spare.
When the Indian team came to practice in Guwahati on Saturday, it was very hot there. In such a situation, coach Rahul Dravid reacted saying that thankfully the match is at night. The temperature in Guwahati on Sunday is expected to be around 36 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of rain, that too after seven oclock in the evening. The match is to be played at the same time. The last time the match played here in the year 2020 was washed out due to rain. In such a situation, once again the rain seems to be a villain for the fans of Guwahati.
