India Women's team and Pakistan Women's team are going to face each other in the second match of the ninth season of the Women's Asia Cup (Womens Asia Cup T20, 2024) on July 19 at 7 pm. Both the teams are from Group A of the tournament and their match will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla.
India and Pakistan last faced each other in the Women's T20 World Cup on 12 February 2023 in Cape Town, in which India won by seven wickets.
The ninth season of the Women's Asia Cup (Womens Asia Cup T20, 2024) will begin in Sri Lanka from Friday, July 19. The tournament will be held in the T20 format and will be the fifth consecutive edition. In the initial round-robin stage, the eight teams have been divided into two groups of four each. The top 2 teams from both the groups will advance to the semi-finals.
Eight teams including India, Pakistan, Nepal, UAE, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand will tour the tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. Team India will begin its campaign in Asia Cup 2024 on July 19.
Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India has been placed in Group 'A' along with Pakistan, Nepal and UAE. Group 'B' includes hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia. The first match of the tournament will be played between Nepal and UAE, followed by a high-voltage match between India and Pakistan on the same day.

The pitch at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla is mainly favorable for the batsmen. Spinners are expected to be more effective here due to the good turn and bounce on the pitch. After winning the toss, teams prefer to bowl first here and the average score of the first innings is 169.
The match will start at 7 PM IST on Friday, July 19. The temperature will be around 28 degrees in the morning and heavy rain is forecast. The evening will be windy and the clouds will be less. The humidity will be 78 percent and there is a 2 percent chance of rain. Heavy rain is expected during the day and the probability of rain is close to 40 percent. This may make the outfield wet which may delay the start of the game. However, draining the water quickly may allow the match to start on time.
