In the 66th match of IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders. Captain KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock themselves batted tremendously and did not give a single wicket to the opposition bowlers. Both of them first crossed the century mark and then 200 runs and made the record for the biggest opening partnership in IPL. Both of them shared an unbeaten 210-run partnership for the first wicket, in which Rahul contributed 68 and de Kock contributed 140 runs. This partnership happened during the 11th match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019 at Hyderabad. Batting first, the pair of Warner and Bairstow shared a record first 185-run partnership for Hyderabad and got the team off to a great start.
