The FIFA World Cup 2026 has now reached its most thrilling stage. Following intense matches in the league phase, the tournament has entered the knockout rounds. Out of the original 48 teams, only 32 remain to battle it out in do-or-die encounters.

FIFA World Cup 2026: Round of 32 Qualification Rules
Under the new World Cup format, the 48 participating teams were divided into 12 groups. The scenario for the Round of 32 was as follows
- Group Winners: The top-ranked teams from all 12 groups.
- Group Runners-up: The second-ranked teams from all 12 groups.
- Best Third-placed Teams: Only the 8 best teams out of the 12 that finished third in their respective groups advanced (e.g., Bosnia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Sweden, Senegal, Algeria, DR Congo, and Ghana).
From this stage onwards, any team that loses a match will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winning teams will secure a spot directly in the pre-quarterfinals (Round of 16).
