The ongoing IPL 2025 is nothing short of a fireworks show, as the batsmen have spread their magic on the game with their recent exploits. Players who scored the fastest 4,000 runs in IPL history.
Chris Gayle, who reached the 4,000-run mark after facing 2,658 balls, scored a total of 4,965 runs in his 142-match IPL career at an average of 39.72 and a strike rate of 148.96. Apart from this, he also has 6 centuries and 31 half-centuries to his name, while he played for a total of 4 teams in this league. Gayle used the ball as a big hitter, as his highest score of 175* is the highest score ever in the IPL.
South Africa's AB de Villiers made his IPL debut during the inaugural season in 2008 and played for both Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In a total of 184 matches, he scored 5,162 runs at an average of 39.70 and a strike rate of 151.68. De Villiers reached the 4,000-run mark after facing a total of 2,658 balls
