European T20 Premier League 2026: A new T20 league is set to make its debut in the cricketing world. Aiming to redefine franchise cricket in Europe, the inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) 2026 kicked off on Wednesday, August 26. Six teams will compete for the title, with the final scheduled for September 20. This league is a joint initiative by Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland, and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association. Sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament will feature a host of current and former international stars.

ETPL 2026 Format and Venue Details

The inaugural ETPL season will span 26 days, featuring a total of 32 matches. Six teams will compete in a double round-robin league stage, with each team playing 10 matches. The team finishing at the top of the league stage will advance directly to the final. A qualifier match between the second- and third-placed teams will take place on September 19; the winner of this match will face the table-topper in the final. The title clash is scheduled for September 20.

The tournament will be hosted across two countries. The opening 17 matches will be played at Sportpark Duivesteijn in Voorburg, Netherlands. Subsequently, the league will move to the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin, Ireland, where matches 18 through 32 will be held. The playoffs and the final will also take place at this venue.
