England announces T20I and ODI squads for Australia series: England have dropped Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali for the upcoming series against Australia. The England Cricket Board has selected a completely new team. However, Jos Buttler will be seen captaining this team. Bairstow and Moeen have played more than 400 international matches so far, but they have been dropped after disappointing performances in ODIs and T20 World Cups. Matthew Mott was sacked as England's limited overs head coach last month and the change continued with the announcement of the team on Monday. Veteran Marcus Trescothick was appointed interim coach in place of Mott and for his first assignment, he has included five uncapped players in the team.

Moeen Ali has been the vice-captain: Left-arm fast bowler Josh Hull, all-rounder Jacob Bethell, and fast bowler John Turner were selected in both ODI and T20 formats. At the same time, Dan Mousley and Jordan Cox were included in the T20 team. Moeen was the vice-captain of the England team in limited overs cricket, but now he is 37 years old and has admitted that his international career is coming to an end. His role as a spin bowling all-rounder will be covered by his Warwickshire teammates Bethell and Mousley. Bairstow will turn 35 next month, but he still has a lot of cricket left in him and he also proved it in IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup 2024.

Jonny Bairstow is going through a bad form: Jonny Bairstow was an integral part of the team that made England champions in 2019. Bairstow scored centuries against India and New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup tournament. In October last year, he signed a two-year central contract with the ECB. However, despite having about 14 months left, Bairstow has lost his place. Recently he got his 100th Test cap, but after this he was dropped from the Test team.
