A significant change has been made to the 14-member squad announced for this championship: none of the players who won a gold medal for the country at the Asian Games last month have been included.
The organizers have decided to provide an opportunity to young talent. The team includes several players who have yet to play a senior international match for India and are now ready to make their mark on this stage.
