BCCI Awards List: Shubman Gill to be honored as Cricketer of the Year

BCCI Awards: BCCI's annual awards are being distributed in Hyderabad on Tuesday. For the first time since 2019, the board is giving awards to the players. BCCI organized this event before the Test series between India and England. All the players of the Indian Test team have arrived to participate in the ceremony. Team India coach Rahul Dravid has also arrived along with the players.

Shubman Gill to be honored as Cricketer of the Year

Indian opening batsman Shubman Gill was given the BCCI Cricketer of the Year award. Gil, playing for the ICC World Cup 2023, became the fastest player to score 2000 runs in ODIs during his team's World Cup match against New Zealand.

The prince of Indian cricket emerged as the top scorer in world cricket across all formats in 2023, scoring 2154 runs in 52 innings at an average of 46.82 and seven centuries. In the ODI format, Gill scored 1584 runs in 29 matches at an average of 63.36, which also included five centuries.
