Women's T20 World Cup 2024: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has approved its team for the Women's T20 World Cup starting next month. The team is dominated by spinners. This World Cup was organized in Bangladesh itself but due to the bad conditions there, the tournament was ended midway from October 3, from where it is starting now.
Bangladesh has announced its team for the Women's T20 World Cup-2024 to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Bangladesh, looking for its first title, has announced the team 15 days before the start of the tournament. Experienced player Nigar Sultana will lead the team in the World Cup.
The selection committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board has selected a team full of spinners in view of the slow pitches of the UAE. Nigar Sultana herself is an excellent spinner. The 15-member team is dominated by left and right-handed spinners.
Apart from Nigar, Bangladesh team has spinners like Nahida Akhtar, Shorna Akhtar, Rabeya, Sultan Khatun and Fahima Khatun. Young Maruf Akhtar, Jahanara Alam, Ritu Moni and Shobhana Mostri will be responsible for the fast bowling attack.
Bangladesh has been placed in Group B in this World Cup. This group also has teams from England, South Africa, West Indies and Scotland.
Bangladesh has not won the World Cup title even once. This team gave its best in the year 2014 and defeated a strong team like Sri Lanka. This time Bangladesh will try to win the title and give its best. Bangladesh has to play its first match against Scotland on October 3.
