Indian shuttlers Ashmita Chaliha and Ravi put on a dominant display to win the women's and men's singles titles respectively at the Maldives International Challenge in Male on Saturday.

Third seed Chaliha came from a game down to defeat compatriot Tasnim Mir in an all-Indian final, while unseeded Ravi got the better of Malaysia's seventh seed Soong Joo Ven in straight games.

Chaliha, who is currently ranked 62nd in the world, started slowly against Mir and lost the first game 19-21. However, she rallied to win the next two games 21-17 and 21-11 to claim her third BWF International Challenge title of the year.

Ravi, who is ranked 89th in the world, was in fine form against Soong and won the match in straight games 21-19 and 21-18. The win was a major breakthrough for Ravi, who has been steadily improving in recent months.

In the women's doubles final, top-seeded Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam were unable to overcome Thailand's Laksika Kanlaha and Phataimas Muenwong. The Indian duo lost the match 22-24, 15-21.

The Maldives International Challenge was a valuable opportunity for Indian shuttlers to gain valuable experience and points ahead of the upcoming major tournaments. The performances of Chaliha, Ravi, and Bhat and Gautam will give the Indian team a lot of confidence going into the next few months.
