Afghanistan has included a host of slow-bowling options on naming their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
Since the arrival of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, all eyes were on the countrys cricket board. In such a situation, the Afghanistan Cricket Board finally announced its squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup on Thursday. Star leg-spinner Rashid Khan was given the command of the team while Mohammad Shahzad returned.
However, a few minutes after the announcement of the team, Rashid Khan announced to leave the captaincy. Rashid accused the board of posting on Twitter. He said that despite being the captain, he was not included in the discussion of team selection and the team was announced without talking to him.
