Afghanistan tour of Zimbabwe : The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the squad for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe. Hasmatullah Shahidi has been made the captain of the team for the Test series. Star spinner Rashid Khan has returned to the Test team after a long time. He played the last Test match for Afghanistan in the year 2021. He has played 5 Test matches so far, in which he has taken 34 wickets.
7 uncapped players have got a chance in the team for the Test series against Zimbabwe. These include all-rounder Ismat Alam, spinner Zaheer Shahzad and fast bowler Bashir Ahmed Afghan. All three of them have performed well in domestic cricket, for which they have now been rewarded. Azmatullah Umarzai, Farid Ahmed Malik, Riaz Hasan and Sediqullah Atal have also been made part of the team. These players have also not yet made their debut in Test cricket. All four of them got a chance in the squad for the only Test against New Zealand, which was cancelled without a ball being bowled due to rain.
