Afghanistan defeats Pakistan for the first time ever in series opener

Naseeb Khan, the chief executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), confirmed that the national team had selected the best players for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. The experienced spinner Rashid Khan has been appointed as the captain for the series.

Pakistan will be without their regular captain Babar Azam, who will be replaced by Shadow Khan for the series. Khan has been the vice-captain for Pakistan's white-ball cricket team for the past few years.

Afghanistan comes into the series on the back of a successful bilateral series against the United Arab Emirates, which they won 2-1. On the other hand, Pakistan will be looking to bounce back after their disappointment in the T20 World Cup, where they lost to Australia in the final.
