I started playing cricket at the age of seven and my father motivated me a lot as he felt I had the potential to become a good cricketer. He took me to JP Sir (Jaiprakash Patel), who had trained over 40 cricketers. Such is the scenario that from Class 8 to 12, I would go to school only for my exams. I just continue playing cricket and hope to make it big one day.

Drona Desai is a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar

Dron Desai's favorite is Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He is especially a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar's straight drive. Apart from this, Dron Desai credits his father for his success. He says that my father recognized the talent and got me good coaching. Actually, Dron Desai's coach Jai Prakash Patel has been the best cricketer of his time. He has represented Gujarat in Ranji Trophy from 1966 to 1976.
