A stampede occurred during a satsang in Sikandrarao, Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh said that 27 people have died due to the stampede during the satsang. Their bodies have reached Etah District Hospital. Most of the dead are women and children. The CMO said that 27 bodies have reached his hospital, out of which 25 are women. Many people have also been injured in the accident. Therefore, the death toll may increase. The injured have been admitted to the Medical Hospital in Etah.
More than 27 people died in the stampede during the conclusion of Bhole Baba's satsang in Phulrai village near Mandi of Sikandrarao. The bodies of 25 women and children have reached Eta Medical College. Local people are suspecting the death of more than 50 people. However, the administration has confirmed the death of 27 people so far. It is being told that hundreds of devotees who came to listen to the discourse fainted due to extreme heat.
Taking cognizance of the Hathras incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sought a detailed report from Additional Chief Secretary Home Deepak Kumar. Along with this, senior police officers have been immediately sent to the spot and instructed to expedite the relief work and ensure treatment of the injured etc.
The deaths due to stampede in the satsang in Hathras will be investigated by a team led by ADG Agra and Commissioner Aligarh. CM Yogi has ordered an investigation. UP ministers Laxmi Narayan and Sandeep Singh are going to the spot. Chief Secretary and DGP are also going to the spot.
