Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Peddi continues its strong theatrical run, moving steadily towards the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone despite facing controversy, mixed reviews, and competition from multiple new releases.

According to the latest box office figures, Peddi has grossed Rs 292.5 crore worldwide by the end of Day 4. The film collected Rs 31.90 crore on Sunday, following earnings of Rs 26.90 crore on Friday and Rs 28.85 crore on Saturday. Its total India gross collection now stands at Rs 187.02 crore, while the India net collection has reached Rs 157.15 crore.

Peddi Day 5 Box Office Collection

The momentum continued on Monday, although collections slowed compared to the weekend. Trade tracker Sacnilk reported that Peddi earned Rs 4.08 crore by 4 pm on Day 5 while running across 4,127 shows nationwide.

By 7 pm, the film's Day 5 earnings had increased to Rs 6.93 crore from 5,736 shows. With these numbers, the movie's India gross collection rose to approximately Rs 191.83 crore, while the India net collection touched Rs 161.23 crore.

The latest figures indicate that the sports drama remains on track to cross the significant Rs 300 crore worldwide mark in the coming days if it maintains its current pace.

One of the major positives for Peddi has been its healthy theatre occupancy.

On Day 4, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 43.15%. The afternoon and evening shows performed particularly well, registering occupancy levels of 71.77% and 74.08%, respectively.

Among major markets, Hyderabad recorded approximately 45% occupancy across 685 shows, while Bengaluru reported 34% occupancy from 464 shows. These numbers suggest that the film continues to attract audiences in key southern territories despite ongoing debates surrounding its content.

While Peddi remains the dominant performer, it is not operating without challenges.

The film is currently competing against several releases, including Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, the Hollywood horror thriller Obsession, and Bobby Deol's Bandar. The presence of multiple options in theatres has increased competition for screens and audience attention.

Despite this crowded marketplace, Peddi has managed to maintain a steady collection trend, reflecting the drawing power of Ram Charan and the film's appeal among core audiences.

Janhvi Kapoor Controversy Explained

Beyond its box office performance, Peddi has been at the centre of a public debate over certain scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor.

A section of viewers criticised the film, alleging that some sequences unnecessarily objectified the female lead. The criticism gained traction on social media, prompting a response from director Buchi Babu Sana.

In a public statement shared on X, the filmmaker apologised to audiences who felt uncomfortable with the portrayal. He stated that cinema should entertain and connect with viewers without causing discomfort or disrespect. Buchi Babu Sana also confirmed that the portions attracting criticism would be modified.

The apology has become a major talking point surrounding the film and has added another layer to the conversation around representation of women in mainstream cinema.

The performance of Peddi is significant because it demonstrates the continued commercial strength of large-scale Telugu cinema and the star power of Ram Charan. Even amid controversy and competitive releases, the film has sustained strong occupancy and impressive collections.

As the worldwide total approaches Rs 300 crore, industry observers will be watching closely to see whether Peddi can maintain momentum through the weekdays and convert its strong opening into a long and profitable theatrical run.
