Mumbai: Vehicles with Lord Ram's flag attacked in Mira Road: Some people of the Hindu community were beaten up in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road adjacent to Mumbai.
Mumbai Mira Road: Before the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, an attempt was made to spoil the communal atmosphere in the Mira Road area near Mumbai. Late night, some miscreants belonging to a particular community vandalized vehicles with flags of Lord Ram and tore religious flags. During this period, there are also allegations of beating of some Ram devotees. However, the police took prompt action and controlled the situation.
According to the information, tension spread in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road when vehicles were surrounded and vandalized in the middle of the road. A woman suffered head injuries in this violent clash. It is alleged that miscreants attacked vehicles carrying flags of Lord Ram with stones and sticks. People traveling in vehicles carrying flags of Lord Ram were beaten up. In view of the tension in the area, a large number of policemen have been deployed.
DCP Jayant Bajbale said, At around 11 pm on Sunday, some people from the Hindu community were raising slogans in 3-4 vehicles in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road adjacent to Mumbai. During this, there was an argument with some people from the Muslim community. Seeing the situation worsening, the police immediately reached the spot and took some people into custody. The situation has been brought under control and a flag march was conducted in the area. Naya Nagar police has registered a case against 5 people. He has been arrested and an investigation into the matter has been started.
Many videos have emerged from the incident site, showing severe chaos. There is an atmosphere of tense peace at this time. It is seen in the video that some miscreants are causing vandalism while raising slogans of 'Allahu Akbar' and 'Takbeer'. Mumbai Police has become alert after this incident.
Naya Nagar police station has registered an FIR under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) and section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion). The culprits are being identified based on viral video clips and CCTV footage. Various police teams have been formed. Police have appealed to citizens not to believe in rumors and maintain peace.
