Japanese automaker Lexus has launched its popular luxury MPV Lexus LM 350h in the Indian market. Lexus LM 350h is the company's flagship model and is the most expensive MPV in the country. The company has introduced the car in two variants. The price of the 7 seater base variant of the car has been kept at Rs 2 crore and the price of the 4 seater top variant has been kept at Rs 2.50 crore (both prices ex-showroom).
The Lexus LM 350h is based on the Toyota Vellfire, priced at Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom). Both cars are designed on the GA-K modular platform with similar engines. Its booking started in India in August 2023. Its second generation version has been launched in India. The new Lexus LM 350h will compete with the Toyota Vellfire, BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz V-Class in the Indian market.
The Lexus LM features a large front windshield and a large spindle grille that extends all the way to its bottom. The front features stylish LED headlights with tri-piece LED elements. A large windscreen with vertical housing for the fog lamps further enhances the front look.
From the side the MPV looks quite big, especially its wheelbase is quite long. It has electric sliding rear door and multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the same time, a high windscreen has been provided in the rear with connected and wraparound LED taillight.
Lexus has given cream color cabin theme in the luxury MPV. Its dashboard is quite simple and has two large screens, including a digital driver display and a 14-inch infotainment system. In the global market, this MPV car is available with 4, 6 and 7 seater configurations, whereas in India it has been launched only in 4-seater and 7-seater layout.
The center of attraction of the car is its second row, where reclining ottoman seat, 23-speaker surround sound system and pillow-style headrest are available for comfort. Lexus has also provided a large 48-inch TV in its second row, between the front and rear sections of the cabin.
Apart from this, the car has 64-color ambient lighting, 10-inch head-up display, heated and ventilated front seat, fold-out table, heated armrest, USB port, wireless phone charger, reading lights, vanity mirror, a roof holder, a Features like small fridge, dual sunroof, a touchscreen controller for HVAC have been provided.
For safety, the car gets a digital rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, ABS and a +3 suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology, which includes vehicle detection. Apart from this, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Monitor and more are included.
For performance in the luxury MPV, a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder strong-hybrid petrol engine has been provided. In the hybrid setup, the electric motor is combined with a nickel-metal hydride battery.
The powertrain setup generates a combined power output of 250PS and 239Nm of torque. The engine is tuned with eCVT gearbox. The Lexus MPV has an all-wheel-drive setup. The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 19kmpl.
