At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery fell by Rs 141, or 0.31 percent, to Rs 71,728 per kg in a business turnover of 26,366 lots.

Globally, silver was trading 0.16 percent higher at $22.93 an ounce in New York.
