The Free Fire Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 has officially concluded in Paris, France, with LYON emerging as the new world champion. The team delivered an outstanding performance in the Grand Finals, reaching the match-point threshold before securing a crucial Booyah to claim the title.

LYON finished the tournament with 124 points and walked away with the biggest share of the event's $1 million prize pool.

The tournament featured 24 top Free Fire teams from around the world. India was represented by S8UL Esports, Team Apex Gaming, and Total Gaming Esports. While S8UL and Team Apex Gaming reached the Grand Finals, Total Gaming Esports was eliminated during the Survival Stage.

LYON Crowned Free Fire EWC 2026 Champions, Takes Home $300,000

LYON showcased remarkable consistency throughout the Grand Finals and successfully converted their match-point advantage into a championship victory. The team secured the coveted world title and earned $300,000 (approximately ₹2.89 crore) in prize money.

Meanwhile, AG.AL finished as runners-up and received $180,000, while LOUD secured third place and took home $120,000.

The tournament offered a total prize pool of $1,000,000, which was distributed among all 24 participating teams based on their final standings.

How Indian Teams Performed at Free Fire EWC 2026

India had three representatives at the Esports World Cup 2026, but only two teams managed to reach the Grand Finals.

S8UL Esports Finishes 11th at Free Fire EWC 2026

S8UL Esports was the highest-placed Indian team at the tournament. The squad accumulated 47 points in the Grand Finals and finished in 11th place, earning $18,000 in prize money.

Team Apex Gaming Ends EWC 2026 Campaign in 12th Place

Team Apex Gaming qualified for the Grand Finals through the Survival Stage but struggled against the world's top teams. The squad ended the event in 12th place with 30 points and received $14,000.

Total Gaming Esports Falls Short of Grand Finals Qualification

Total Gaming Esports was unable to progress beyond the Survival Stage and missed out on a place in the Grand Finals. Despite the early exit, the team still earned $4,500 from the tournament prize pool.
