The Commonwealth Games 2026 will enter its sixth day on Tuesday, July 28, and Indian athletes will be aiming for more success in boxing, athletics, weightlifting, swimming and lawn bowls.

After a strong performance on Day 5, where India won several medals, expectations will be high from the Indian contingent. The sixth day will be especially important as five Indian boxers will fight in the quarter-finals, while Neerupama Devi Seram, Harjinder Kaur, Gulveer Singh and Pooja Singh will compete in medal events.

India has made a promising start at the Commonwealth Games 2026, and Day 6 could bring more medals for the country. Boxing and weightlifting will be the biggest focus areas, with several Indian athletes having a chance to secure podium finishes.

The Indian team will also look to make an impact in athletics, swimming and lawn bowls as the competition enters another important phase.

Boxing will be one of the most exciting events for India on Day 6.

In the women's category, Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Parveen Hooda will compete in their respective quarter-final matches. A win in these bouts will confirm a medal for the Indian boxers.

In the men's category, Jadumani Singh and Kapil Pokhariya will also enter the ring for their quarter-final contests. Both fighters will aim to secure a place in the medal rounds with a strong performance.

Neerupama Devi Seram will compete in the women's 63kg final, while Harjinder Kaur will participate in the women's 69kg final.

Both athletes will look to deliver their best performances and continue India's impressive record in weightlifting.

Meanwhile, Pooja Singh will participate in the women's high jump final and will aim to finish on the podium.

Indian athletes Vishal TK and Rajesh Ramesh will also compete in the men's 400m heats.

Indian swimmers will also take centre stage on Day 6.

  • Sajan Prakash will compete in the men's 50m butterfly heats. If he qualifies, he will advance to the semi-final.
  • Srihari Nataraj will participate in the men's 100m backstroke heats.
  • Para swimmers Kartik Budigina and Ali Imam will compete in the men's 50m freestyle S13 event.

The men's pairs team of Dinesh Kumar and Navneet Singh will represent India, while Nayanmoni Saikia will compete in the women's singles event.
