At the start of day 3 of the first test in India's tour of the West Indies, Yashasvi Jaiswal & Virat Kohli resumed the day from an overnight score of 312-2. Young Jaiswal showed signs of aggression in the day as he went on to bring up his 150, before finally falling victim to Alzarri Joseph after scoring 171 runs. The Windies bowlers found their rhythm eventually as soon enough Kemar Roach was amongst the wickets as well as he dismissed Ajinkya Rahane early on in his innings. Ravindra Jadeja's arrival at the crease saw India score at an accelerated pace but it was soon put to an end as Rakheem Cornwall grabbed the big wicket of Virat Kohli when he was at 76, as India eventually declared at 421-5. Trailing by 271 runs, the Windies problems against spin continued as Ravichandran Ashwin was at his best once again picking up excellent figures of 7/71 with support from Ravindra Jadeja yet again who picked up 2 wickets as well. In the end the hosts, West Indies, were skittled out for a 130 runs as India won the first test by 141 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 2 test match series.
