Mumbai Indians debut 3 players in their first match, Kolkata also gave a chance to many new faces

Five-time champion Mumbai Indians will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the second match of IPL 2026 today, Sunday. Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik announced that he would field six bowlers and five batsmen. Three players from Mumbai Indians made their debuts in this match. Sherfane Rutherford, Shardul Thakur, and Allah Ghazanfar were handed their debut caps for Mumbai. Ghazanfar is making his IPL debut today.

Cameron Green, Finn Allen, and Blessing Muzarabani all made their debuts for Kolkata Knight Riders. Mumbai has won five IPL titles, while Kolkata has three. Therefore, a tough competition is expected between the two teams today.
