Paarl Royals played their 3rd match of the season at Boland park against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Having won the toss, #SEC opted to bowl first.
The Paarl Royals went to bat first and lost crucial wickets during the power play. Jason Roy again fell short of expectations by scoring only 6. Their innings were anchored by Wihan Lubbe and Corbin Bosch, who scored a 40-run partnership. Wihan Lubbe's crucial wicket was picked by Bryson Cares. The royals could not maintain their position in the innings hereafter and could only score a meagre total of 127/7 in their 20 overs.
Next, Sunrisers Eastern Cape needed 128 runs to win. The opening pair of Adam Rossington & Jordan Hermann gave the Sunrisers a power-packed start. But quick wickets by Lungi Ngidi gave the Royals a sense of hope. Bjorn Fortiun stunned everyone by striking 3 massive wickets in an over. Tristan Stubbs & Marco Jansen eventually chased down the target by building a solid 38-run partnership and winning #SEC their 3rd match in a row!
