Senegal secured a place in the Round of 16 at Ecuador's expense with a 2-1 win in their final group stage match.
Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring for the African side from the spot, after being brought down inside the box just before half-time. The South American side levelled things up through Moises Caicedo in the 67th minute. But their celebrations were short-lived as skipper Kalidou Koulibaly scored the winner for Senegal three minutes later.
