Kane Williamson announces retirement from international cricket

Williamson's decision comes amid New Zealand's tour of England, where the team is trailing 1-0 after losing the first match. He will no longer participate in the series, and the Lord's Test will be the last match of his international career.

In a statement issued by New Zealand Cricket, Williamson said, "I have thought about this for a long time, but over the past few days it has become clear that the time is right. I have always felt a strong passion and desire for international cricket and I am proud to have given my all in every match I have played for New Zealand. Anything less would be unfair, and I consider myself fortunate to be leaving on my own terms."
