Captain Shubman Gill missed by 31 runs, otherwise Kohli-Sachin great record would have been broken

Indian Test captain Shubman Gill's bat roared at the Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.

On the second day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan, Gill continued his 103-run innings and was expected to reach a milestone with another 54 runs. However, Mohammad Salim Safi dismissed him for 126.

In fact, Shubman Gill (IND vs AFG Test) was playing his 41st Test match and 74th innings. During this time, in the second Test against Afghanistan, he had the opportunity to reach 3000 runs in his Test career. He needed 54 runs to achieve this feat, but Gill managed only 23 runs on the second day, thus missing out on surpassing Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rohit Sharma as the fastest to 3000 runs.
