Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali and Babar Azam contributed largely with the bat. However, soon after their dismissal, Australia took part the Pakistan batting lineup. The lower order batters got out quickly for just one digit scores against the fiery pace of captain Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. The home side ended with a total of 268 runs. Aussie openers then had to face three overs which they successfully got through. Day three ended with Australia for a total of 11 runs and a lead of 134 runs.
